Pick by purpose

Which Text Style Should You Choose?

Start with how easy the text needs to be to read, then add decoration.

Easy to read

Readable emphasis

Bold, italic, sans-serif or monospace keep letters easy to recognize.

Try: 𝐁𝐨𝐥𝐝 · 𝘐𝘵𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘤 · 𝚖𝚘𝚗𝚘

Personality

Names and short bios

Cursive, small caps, fullwidth or light decoration add personality.

Try: 𝓢𝓬𝓻𝓲𝓹𝓽 · ꜱᴍᴀʟʟ ᴄᴀᴘꜱ

Dramatic

Gothic or gaming names

Fraktur and stronger substitutions for a dramatic look. Test on the target device.

Try: 𝕯𝖆𝖗𝖐 · ꧁༺ Dark ༻꧂

Playful

Cute or playful text

Bubble, enclosed and framed styles suit short labels and captions.

Try: ⒷⓊⒷⒷⓁⒺ · ♡ cute ♡

Use sparingly

Glitch or horror effects

Use on short text only. Start with the mild strength, since heavy marks can overlap nearby lines.

Try: G̴l̵i̷t̓çh̴ (mild) on one word

Keep it plain

Important information

Keep contact details and instructions in normal text. Use styles as an accent.

Tip: style the name, not the details

Use it anywhere

Where Can You Use Fancy Text?

Anywhere a text field accepts the Unicode characters you copied.

InstagramTikTokDiscordFacebookX (Twitter)WhatsAppGaming namesBios and captionsNotes and headings

Popular platforms. For a focused example, try the Instagram font generator, which focuses on bios, display names and captions. Each platform and field can restrict or render Unicode differently, so check the result before saving or posting.

Profiles

Profiles and display names

A short styled name or tagline, where the service allows those characters.

Posts

Bios, captions and chats

One styled line as an accent. Keep longer information in regular text.

Check first

Usernames and @handles

Often stricter than display names. If a style is rejected, try a simpler one.

Under the hood

What Is a Font Changer or Font Generator?

A font changer, also called a font generator, fancy text generator or copy-and-paste font generator, changes the look of your text by swapping ordinary letters for alternative Unicode characters, or by decorating them with Unicode marks and symbols. FontTex is free to use, and there is no font file to download or install.

How Do Copy-and-Paste Fonts Work?

Many bold, italic, script, Fraktur, double-struck and monospace characters come from Unicode ranges created for mathematical notation. Other effects use enclosed characters, symbols or combining marks. When you copy a result, you copy those characters themselves, so the style travels with the text.

The destination still decides two things: whether it accepts the characters, and which font draws them. That is why the same text can look slightly different on another device.

Compatibility

Do Fancy Fonts Work Everywhere?

Not always. Apps can restrict characters, and a device font may lack some glyphs. Open a common issue below for the quickest fix.

I see boxes, question marks or empty symbols

The device may not have a glyph for one of the copied characters, or the field may reject it. Try a cleaner style with more familiar characters.

Some letters did not change

Not every style has a matching Unicode substitute for every letter, number or symbol. The original character may remain when no suitable alternative exists.

The style looks different on another device

The characters can stay the same while the operating system, browser or app uses a different font to draw them.

Glitch text overlaps nearby lines

Glitch styles stack combining marks above and below letters. Switch from heavy or medium to the mild glitch, or use a simpler style.

The Copy button does not work

Some browsers restrict clipboard access. Select the generated text manually and use your device’s normal Copy command.

A username or @handle rejects the result

Account identifiers are often stricter than display names or bios. Try a simpler style or use the styled text in another permitted field.

Accessibility tip: Screen readers may read decorative characters in odd ways. Look-alike styles such as Rough, Vintage script, Baby rounded and Faux Greek use letters from other writing systems, so they may be read as foreign characters. Search tools can also treat styled text as different letters.

On mobile

How to Copy and Paste Fonts on a Phone

FontTex works in any mobile browser. For decorative and glitch styles, preview the result on a small screen before you post it.

1

Copy in your mobile browser.

Tap a style or its Copy button. If copying is blocked, press and hold the result to select it manually.

2

Paste into your app.

Open Instagram, TikTok, WhatsApp or another app. Press and hold in the text field, then choose Paste.

3

Check before posting.

Decorative text can look tighter or taller on a small screen. Glitch styles may also affect line spacing, so preview the final result first.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Is FontTex a free font download site?

FontTex is free, but it does not offer font files such as TTF or OTF. It turns your text into Unicode characters that you copy and paste, so there is nothing to download or install. To use a font across a whole document or website, you need a font file from a font library instead.

Do I need an account to use FontTex?

No. FontTex does not require an account. Saved and Recent are kept in the browser you use, so they do not sync between devices.

Do you store the text I type?

FontTex creates the styles in your browser, so the text you type is not sent to FontTex for processing. To let your text follow you to other FontTex generators during a visit, your browser keeps it on your device.

Does styled Unicode still count as text?

Yes. FontTex creates real Unicode text, not images. Some apps, search tools and screen readers may treat decorative characters differently from normal letters.

Can I use styled text in usernames and @handles?

Sometimes, but usernames and @handles are often stricter than display names, bios or captions. If a field rejects the styled text, try a simpler Unicode style or keep the username in plain letters and use the styled version in a display-name or bio field instead.

Can I copy more than one style at once?

Yes. Open Export and choose Copy all styles. You can also use Download TXT or Print/Save PDF.

Can I use these styles in Word, Google Docs or email?

Often, yes. FontTex creates Unicode characters that can be pasted into many documents and email fields, but the exact appearance, search behavior and accessibility can vary with the application, device and available fonts. If a character is unsupported, it may appear differently or show as a box.

Ready to change your font?

Type once, then paste where it is supported. Free and instant.
